The Husayni Madrasahs of Dar es Salaam had launched a 5-year plan for a new curriculum starting in 2016 and ending in 2020. With the grace of the Almighty, the madrasah management has been able to achieve this plan to fruition and expects all students from classes 7 to 10 to have these curriculums with them as textbooks.

The Madrasah Academic team will now be reviewing the curriculum under the guidance of our scholars.
For classes 7 – 10, the 4 core subjects are; Akhlaq & Qur’an (Qur’anic Ethics), Aqaid & Fiqh (Islamic belief and law), Taarikh (Islamic History) and Qur’an recitation. Each subject consists of 3 modules and a module exam at the end. Each module carries 30%. For each subject, 10% of marks are allocated at the discretion of the teacher. This may include class participation, oral examinations, take-home projects etc.

For Classes 11 & 12; each subject will have 2 modules weighing 50% each.
This modularized system aims to reduce the workload for the students at the end of the year. Students will not be examined on the topics of previous modules.

The Madrasah awards all students who achieve an A grade (above 81%) in their overall performance throughout the year.

At the end of the academic year, any student who fails two or more subjects will be required to repeat the class. Students in class 11 and 12 have to pass ALL subjects to qualify for promotion/graduation.
The pass mark for all subjects is 40%. The student will NOT be allowed to repeat a grade more than once.
